Waitrose

Battersea is partnering with Waitrose with the launch of two exciting new products to mark the upcoming Royal Coronation on 06 May 2023. A sweet treat for street parties across the UK, Jewel the Jack Russell cake will be something to enjoy during the celebrations. As well as a suitably themed Jack Russell Planter to spruce up any windowsill!

Battersea’s partnership with Waitrose is launching just in time for Coronation celebrations, with Jewel appearing in stores on the 12th, followed by the planter on the 26th. From 12th April to 31st May, Waitrose will be donating £1 + VAT from every sale of their Jack Russell planter and Jack Russell cake sold. The money raised will help Battersea continue to be there for every dog and cat, wherever they are, for as long as they need us.

Like Battersea, Waitrose believes rescue is best, and have created these products inspired by Her Majesty The Queen Consort’s very own ex-Battersea Jack Russell’s: Beth and Bluebell.

These products are sure to brighten up all your Coronation Day plans! Indulging yourself with a slice of cake or brightening up a suitably themed windowsill, they are sure to make the perfect companions, much like Jack Russells themselves. Waitrose’s Jack Russell Planter will be available across all stores, while Jewel the Jack Russell Cake will be sold in selected stores. However, both are available online.

Lydia Butler, Partner & Social Impact Ethics & Sustainability Specialist, at Waitrose, said: "At the John Lewis Partnership, we're delighted to be supporting Battersea through sales of a Jack Russell cake and planter in our Waitrose shops during the period of the King's Coronation. The Queen Consort, Camilla, Patron of Battersea loves Jack Russels, and we know that our customers support the important work that Battersea does to be there for every dog and cat. Our support of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home sits within our purpose to work in partnership for a happier world."
