It sends the money you raise directly to Battersea, which means less time worrying about admin, and more time to plan a fantastic fundraiser.

JustGiving is perfect for collecting sponsorship if you're taking on a challenge, but it's also ideal for collecting donations at an event you’re hosting. Whether you're asking for donations to join your event or selling something, you can simply share a link to your JustGiving page. So, there’s no need for you to handle or process cash.

1. SET UP A FUNDRAISING PAGE

Setting up your JustGiving page is super easy and only takes a few minutes.

2. UPLOAD PHOTOS OR ADD A VIDEO

Fundraisers with pictures or videos on their page raise 13% more per photo. So, make sure you personalise your page by adding a photo or video of you or your four-legged friend. Once you’ve completed your fundraising activity, you could add another photo update to help boost donations.

3. SET YOUR TARGET

Let your supporters know how much you’re aiming to raise – it may just encourage them to give that little bit more to help reach your target.

Just think how good it will feel when you hit that 100% mark!

4. TELL YOUR STORY

Writing a personal story on your JustGiving page helps your supporters understand why you’re fundraising. You could raise 65% more if you do. Not sure what to write? Use JustGiving’s Story Enhancer tool to create your perfect fundraising story in just one click, using the magic of AI.

5. WHY BATTERSEA?

People love to know the impact of their giving so let them know them exactly how their donation will help. Here are a few examples of how your supporters' money could be used:

  • £20 - Could pay for microchips for 10 dogs and cats that come into Battersea
  • £30 - Could pay for equipment to help dogs that need a little extra training before they find a new home
  • £50 - Could pay for a hydrotherapy session to help a dog get back on their feet after surgery, and improve their quality of life while they wait to find a new home
  • £100 – Cats can be a little nervous when they first come to Battersea. A donation of £100 could help get them settled in, with a cat tree, scratching post and treats to make the place their own.

£25

could pay for a cat essentials bundle which includes an igloo, bowls and a litter tray.

£45

could pay for a dog essentials bundle which includes a cosy bed and food bowl for a small dog.

£85

could pay for an enrichment bundle for a small dog including items such as toys, treats, blankets and a relaxing plugin diffuser.

£300

could pay for a bundle to care for a mum and her puppy’s including items such as puppy pads, a puppy Kong, scales and puppy teether toys.

6. DONATE TO YOUR OWN PAGE

Kickstart your fundraising efforts by making a personal donation to your JustGiving page.  People who make a donation to their own page to get them started raise 42% more. Lead by example, and your supporters will be close behind you.

7. SHARE, SHARE AND SHARE

Share your fundraising page on social media and via email to reach more people and raise more money. Promote your fundraising page on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Whatsapp. Don’t forget to share the link, let people know why Battersea is important to you, and tag friends, family and colleagues.

You can easily create a QR code within JustGiving which makes your JustGiving page easier to share on posters and at events.

8. OFFLINE FUNDRAISING

If you collect any cash, you can add this to your JustGiving page to be included in your fundraising total.

If you plan to collect offline donations, we can send you a collection box or paper sponsorship form if you register your fundraising (link to SLF reg form). The best way to pay in offline donations is by paying it into your own bank account and then paying to Battersea using our donation form.

9. THANK YOUR SUPPORTERS

There are plenty of ways you can acknowledge the people who have donated to your page. Why not update your fundraising page with a thank you message and photo, or email or Whatsapp people to say thanks? Or you could upload an Instagram or Facebook post or story, to let people know how your fundraising went, what their support has meant to you and what a difference it will make to Battersea.
