Tay

2010 - 2026
Tay you came into our hearts in 2011 from Battersea. The minute you walked through that door and gave us the most boxer like waggy wiggle, even though you had kennel cough and were quite poorly, you were so pleased to meet us and we were so pleased to have you. Described as well mannered and sweet natured, and that you were, loving all of us and everyone you met, human, teddy and animal, although you were compelled to chase cats and we couldn't quite trust you around chickens. We had so many adventures together throughout the years, journeys in the car, on the bus and train, camping, walks, playing ball, playing on the beach with sandy nose and sandy toes, swimming in the sea, going to the pub, having the odd ice cream, or your favourite, getting to lick out the clotted cream tub when we had finished with it, always leaving a spoonful in there for you as a treat and you were always so clever at learning new tricks. Your best trick was to choose a teddy from outside a charity shop and calmly stroll up the street with it, flatly refusing to let it go, making us go back and pay for the teddy you just pinched. People always used to compliment us on your colour and looks and ask us what breed you were, 'just a mongrel' we would reply. But you weren't just a mongrel. You were so much more than that. You were our daughter, our sister, our bestest friend, our soulmate, our shoulder to cry on, our lapdog too big for laps, our basker of sunshine, our greeter at the door, our hair depositer, our teddy lover, our present opener, our yogurt pot cleaner, our gravy bone muncher, our joy and our life. We all will miss you so very much.
