2-year-old British shorthair Casablanca arrived at Battersea as a stray, after being found on the finder's doorstep for three days in a row. The staff at Battersea noticed Casablanca was very shy on intake, and after a medical check from the skilled clinic team, she was moved into the Cattery.
Upon her arrival into the Cattery, it quickly became apparent that poor Casablanca was a very scared and shy girl. The skilled team in the Cattery noticed that Casablanca would hide at the back of her pen and that the poor girl did not have much of an appetite. They recognised that Casablanca needed some time to settle in the Cattery. The team introduced a behavioural care plan to help her gain her confidence and thrive in her new environment.
With time and patience, lovely Casablanca began to flourish, and her affectionate personality started to shine through. She began to make friends with the dedicated staff and volunteers, enjoying the occasional head and chin rub. The team found the best way to make friends with Casablanca was through play, as she loved to run around her pen and chase and pounce on her string toy. Her appetite improved and staff and volunteers found that she really enjoyed Dreamies.
It wasn’t long before Casablanca found her loving home, where she continues to grow her confidence.
