Chase's Story

29 May 2025

One-year-old Rottweiler, Chase, was brought to Battersea’s Old Windsor centre by his previous owners, when they could sadly no longer look after him.

Described as a brilliant boy who’s larger than life, Chase often forgot his own size, tending to get overexcited around other dogs. To find his perfect home, Battersea staff searched for a family that had experience with large dog breeds.

Lucy from Kent understood the training that Chase would need to help him mature into a calm, well-rounded adult dog. She had grown up with four different rescue Rottweilers like Chase in her family home, the latest being, a Rottie, from Battersea’s London centre just a few years earlier. Lucy immediately enrolled Chase into a puppy school where he could continue his socialisation and build on the training he received while at Battersea.

The lessons paid off and eight weeks on, Lucy told Battersea how proud she was of her "bestest boy," who was the largest pup in the school and beginning to act as a role model for the other dogs in class.
