We’d like you to meet Clarkson, a German Shepherd puppy who was given a second chance at happiness by our amazing supporters.
Clarkson arrived at our Battersea Old Windsor site last year after he was found on his own in a cemetery. Right away, our staff acted quickly to give him the expert care he needed.
After a full health check up, our veterinary team discovered that Clarkson had gait and skin issues, as well as a curved spine, weak hips and poor muscle development in his legs. It was going to be a long road to recovery, but our supporters were there to help him every step of the way.

We created a tailored care plan for him that included physiotherapy and regular visits to our hydrotherapy pool. We also incorporated behavioural training into his plan, in preparation for his biggest adventure yet: finding a new home.
To get him ready for rehoming, Clarkson spent some time living with one of our dedicated foster carers, who helped him get used to life in a new home. This soon proved to be a special meeting that would change Clarkson’s life forever. After six months in our care, Clarkson’s lucky day had arrived: his foster carer, Silvia, and her own German Shepherd had fallen in love with having Clarkson in their lives and they gave him a permanent home.
Thanks to our amazing supporters, Clarkson has not only found a home but a new best friend too and is living his happiest life.
