Best friends Manny the Pug and Dolly the Jack Russell arrived at Battersea following a change in their owner's financial circumstances. All our dogs and cats are unique, and so are the reasons they arrive in need of help. However, one thing they all have in common is the love and expert care they receive, which is only made possible by incredible supporters like you.
Manny and Dolly’s special bond brought them both comfort as they settled into the kennel environment. Manny had an excitable personality and would eagerly seek out affection from everyone he met without hesitation. Meanwhile, Dolly was more careful and sensitive, needing time getting to know her new carers before cuddling up on their lap.
Their sweet friendship was heart-warming to see. Dolly regularly sought reassurance from Manny when being introduced to new things and he was right by her side, helping her feel brave. While they enjoyed being independent around other dogs, it was clear they felt happiest together.
Dolly was also a brilliant support to poor Manny when he was suffering with Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS), a condition that is common in flat faced breeds. This causes respiratory problems and discomfort which Manny needed to undergo surgery for. Manny’s procedure was a success, and Dolly was by his side throughout his recovery, keeping him company as he got back on his paws.
Thanks to you, this adorable duo was given a second chance at happiness, and we're delighted to share that they were rehomed together. They're now living with their loving new family, who told us that Manny and Dolly fill their days with lots of playtime and cuddles on the sofa, enjoying the happy new beginning that you made possible.
