Dolly's Story

02 Apr 2026

Dolly, a 7-year-old French Bulldog, arrived at Battersea when her previous owners' circumstances changed and were sadly unable to care for her.

Throughout her time in our kennels, Dolly’s bright and friendly personality brought joy to everyone she met. Her favourite things to do included: long naps, playing with her toys and lots of cuddles.

Thanks to the kindness of our supporters, we were able to provide Dolly with the expert care she needed. Like many other flat-faced breeds, Dolly required Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) surgery which helped her breathe more easily. Dolly also received skin tag removal and treatment for itchy skin.

Following her successful treatments, Dolly spent some time with one of Battersea’s dedicated foster carers. In her foster home, Dolly had a comfortable and peaceful environment to recover in while she waited to find a new home of her own.

After two and half months out on foster, we found Dolly a loving new home where she is now thriving – all thanks to the generosity and care of our supporters.

Want to learn more about fostering with Battersea?

Fostering is a key part of our vital work. Many of the animals we care for would benefit from fostering, but they usually need a specific type of home setup. For some, this could mean somewhere calm and quiet where they can relax. For others, it's a space to improve behaviour training and grow in confidence.

With costs taken care of and lots of guidance, support and training given from our team, fostering with Battersea is a great way to enrich your life with the love of an animal, while transforming theirs for the better.
