Friendly yet worried Whippet Eevee arrived at our Old Windsor centre after being found injured and alone in a field. The kind person who discovered her took her straight to a vet, where X-rays revealed a fractured front leg. After initial treatment, she was brought to Battersea to begin her recovery.
The fracture was so severe it was unlikely to heal without surgery. Battersea’s vets placed Eevee on strict cage rest with pain relief before transferring her to our London centre for specialist care. Despite everything, she stayed cheerful and quickly won over our staff.
Brave Eevee underwent complex repair surgery, including plates in her leg and a bone graft to support healing. Your support helped fund not only her life-changing surgery, but the vital rehabilitation that followed; from laser therapy to lymphatic massage. She remained a star patient throughout, sitting calmly when ice packs were placed on her leg.
As her strength returned, Eevee enjoyed short lead walks and made friends with other Battersea dogs. Thanks to you, she is now thriving in her new home.
