Did you know that kittens who get separated from their mum need to be hand reared to help them through their first few weeks? So when siblings, Echo and Whisper, arrived at Battersea together without their mum, our staff acted quickly to give them the expert care they needed.
What does hand rearing involve?
Hand rearing kittens involves feeding them from a bottle, toileting them, keeping them clean and warm, treating them for cat flu, and monitoring how they grow and develop. All kittens need feeding every few hours when they’re just a few weeks old, so it’s important they get this round the clock support to live happy and healthy lives.
