One-year-old Lynx arrived at Battersea when his previous owner was sadly unable to afford the medical treatment he needed after being hit by a car.
Upon arrival, brave Lynx urgently needed fracture repair surgery to save his leg and was immediately sent to our Battersea clinic. Our team assessed his injuries, performed X-rays of the fracture and prepared him for his operation. It was a successful surgery. Afterwards, Lynx was given plenty of specialist care in our clinic wards. Two weeks later, Lynx was ready for the Battersea Cattery.
At first, Lynx found the new environment a lot to get used to, so our cat carers made sure he was settled into a quieter area. This would help him relax as he got back on his paws - as he still had a lot of strength to rebuild.
Our dedicated Cattery team devised a special care plan for him, involving gentle play sessions as part of his rehabilitation. Now that he felt safe and strong, Lynx began to show his friendly and affectionate personality. During time spent with both staff and volunteers, Lynx proved he had all the makings of a wonderful companion: full of charm, character and cuddles.
Lynx was still regularly having post-operative checks with our Battersea vets and making plenty of excellent progress. It wasn’t long before he was ready to begin his rehoming journey.
Despite his adorable personality, Lynx’s journey to a new home became a long one. Due to his injury, he was sadly often overlooked for rehoming. However, for every day he had to wait, your support provided him with all the care, treats and toys he needed. Our staff and volunteers ensured that he also had plenty of friends to give him cuddles until he found that perfect match. Thanks to you, he was surrounded by plenty of love.
Finally, after over three months in Battersea’s care, our dedicated Rehoming team got the call Lynx had been waiting for: they had found the perfect match. Lynx had a wonderful meeting with his new family and was at long last on his way to a new home and the bright new beginning that you made possible for him. Lynx’s new family share that he is thriving in his new life; happy, loved and safe, all thanks to your kindness.
