At just four-months old, a beautiful black and white kitten named Percy was found as a stray and brought to Battersea to get the care and safe place to stay that he needed. When he arrived, it was clear that little Percy was feeling unwell.
Our vets carried out a full health check and found Percy to be dehydrated and struggling with a high temperature. Thanks to the kindness of supporters like you, our dedicated team were on hand to swiftly give Percy the medical attention he needed, and he soon began to regain his strength.
Once he was feeling like himself again, Percy quickly made friends and formed close bonds with his carers in the cattery, who adored his charming personality. He was a very affectionate and sociable little kitten who loved to curl up in his carer’s lap for a snooze, purring contentedly (after an energetic game with his many toys!) Sweet Percy didn’t have to wait long before his new family fell for his charms and gave him a loving home to thrive in – the greatest gift, and just in time to celebrate his first Christmas!
Percy’s new owner, Cat, says:
“When we were hoping to rescue a cat from Battersea, we were open to rehoming any of the cats in their care, as we knew they all needed a home to call their own. The staff were great at talking to us about the different cats looking for homes and as soon as we met Percy, I could see his funny quirky character coming through. I remember he looked up at me and promptly snuggled into my lap, in that moment he stole my heart. We've just celebrated his one year 'gotcha day' anniversary and it's been a privilege to watch him grow into the confident, cuddly and somewhat cheeky chap that he is. I'm so glad we chose rescue, knowing that in some way we've helped find a home for an animal in need.
