Taco's Story

29 May 2025

Two-year-old cat, Taco, arrived at Battersea in January after being found as a stray by a concerned family.

On arrival, he was initially shy and had a suspected cat bite on his head. Wary around other cats, Taco preferred staying tucked up in his pod, suggesting that he would thrive as an only pet in his new home.

As well as being highly aware of other cats, Taco remained frustrated with the cattery environment, especially at night, when he used his voice to yowl loudly. The cattery team set up an enrichment programme to help reduce Taco's nightly frustration, keeping him calm and engaged.

After staying at Battersea for almost two months, Taco found a foster home that helped him settle. However, one week into his foster stay, his luck changed when his perfect forever home became available.

Taco is living his best life with his new family and has brought so much joy into his new home. He is still a vocal boy, using his voice to join in with band practice and to input on the occasional online call.
