Cats are known for being independent, but nine cats currently at Battersea have put their paws behind a letter to Channel 4 asking for the show, 8 Out of 10 Cats, to be renamed 9 Out of 10 Cats.
This comes after new research from pet food brand, WHISKAS, showed that 9 out of 10 cats prefer its food.
Among them are Joe Whiskason, Sarah Meowlican and Rob Beckcat – three cats named after panellists from the show. And all nine are looking for loving new homes.
Meet the nine cats below and find out more about their personalities and the Battersea adoption process.
Joe Whiskason
Joe Whiskason was renamed after 9 Out of 10 Cats panellist Joe Wilkinson. He is an active boy with an independent streak but once settled loves a fuss and is happy to spend time with you.

Sarah Meowlican
Sarah Meowlican gets her namesake from comedy legend Sarah Millican. This lovely lass is fun and playful, with a love for cardboard boxes and ping pong balls.

Rob Beckcat
Rob Beckcat, whose name was inspired by the new series’ team captain Rob Beckett, is a big goofball with plenty of love to give. Once settled, he is an affectionate lap cat with a love of play.

Lady Ethel
Lady Ethel is an older girl who is very sweet and loves a fuss. She is also a very chatty character and likes to impart the wisdom of her years with her very endearing meow.

Sausage
Sausage wastes no time making himself known to his carers. He’ll happily come over for fuss, attention and a bit of quality time with his favourite humans.

Marley
Marley is a true love bug with a big heart. This chatty boy thrives on attention, exchanging affectionate head bumps for strokes.

Tula
Quirky Tula enjoys zooming around her pen and playing fetch with her little mouse toy, bringing it back to her favourite humans to throw.
Dr. McDreamy
Dr McDreamy is a wonderfully affectionate cat who loves to be around people. Sometimes he will plonk himself next to you on the sofa with his little paws on your lap too.

Fisherman Tom
Fisherman Tom is a smoochy older boy who, come rain or shine, enjoys being outdoors. He is also very friendly and loves snugging up for head and chin rubs.
