More about Alice

Meet our lovely girl Alice!

Alice is a retired racer who is now looking for a calm, loving forever home where she can finally put her paws up. She is quite petite for a Greyhound, a gentle and calm girl, she has shown some chase behaviours typical to her breed so will need to wear a muzzle and be kept on lead out and about.

Alice is still finding her confidence and currently spends much of her day curled up in her bed, feeling a little overwhelmed by the world. However, she is making steady progress with her humans and has also been gaining confidence around other dogs, especially after spending time with her greyhound friends onsite, which has really helped her.

She has been observed around greyhounds and bull breeds and interacts consistently with all. While she can be worried, she greets dogs politely, walks alongside them nicely, and is happy to do her own thing, though she is not yet confident enough to play.
She is particularly close to Greyhounds here at Battersea, sharing kennel and office space with them, and would love to be rehomed alongside another greyhound or in a home with another dog. Although she is progressing well as the only dog on foster.

Alice is looking for experienced owners who can support a worried dog and continue her socialisation. A quiet, adult-only household with a secure garden would suit her best. As she has not lived in a home environment before, she will need patient, understanding owners to introduce her gradually to everyday household life and sounds.
Helping Alice build her confidence and watching her blossom will be an incredibly rewarding journey for the lucky family who welcomes her home!
