Archie is a young Lurcher who has a calm nature but does also like to play at times too. He is currently based at our Old Windsor Centre
Archie is a huge fan of exploring, just make sure you aren't in a rush as he likes to sniff literally everything. He loves to investigate interesting areas like woodlands and river ways. He does walk nicely on the lead despite stopping often to sniff. He will need a garden as a space where he can enjoy off lead time and also help build on his training.
Archie previously spent a small amount of time in a home and did struggle with being left alone. and found it quite stressful. He needs to go to a home with minimal leaving hours to allow Archie to settle in at his own pace with patient owners who understand that this will be a work in progress and will take time to build up to being left for longer periods of time.
Another of Archie's favourite things is relaxing on a nice comfy bed, even more so if he has a tasty chew to keep him busy.
Around people Archie has been friendly and likes a gentle fuss. He is happy to approach people to say hello and is respectful when he does this. We feel Archie would suit a home with older children.
Things that make his tail wag are exciting food toys or food in general and his toys. Archie also really enjoys being able to stretch his legs from time to time so a garden he can enjoy zoomies in and also relax in the sunshine would be his ideal.
Archie is looking for a home who will enjoy life at a leisurely pace just like he does.

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
