More about Barney

Meet lovely Barney!

Barney arrived at Battersea with a history of being quite the sensitive soul. When he first arrived, he was quite reactive to people, other dogs, avoidant of handling and was worried of noises and the busy environment. However, he has really come of his shell and is now a sweet affectionate boy. He's shown great response to training and we're really proud of how far he's come!

Barney loves his people and a good fuss and is now even approaching new people for some love too!

Barney is quite conflicted around other dogs and isn't ready to live with another dog just yet. However, he would benefit from some local steady friends to show him the ropes.

Barney is looking for an experienced new home with a loving, adults only, family who will be dedicated in helping him come out of his shell and show him the outside world is not so scary! He will need to live in a quieter location with no visiting children. New owners should be experienced with the breed and all the typical traits that comes with owning one. Barney will need ongoing training and confidence building in his new home around some of his triggers. Owners should expect and be prepared for a low pressure settling in period while he finds his feet and builds a bond with them.
