More about Bertie

Handsome Bertie is a friendly and sociable boy with both people and other dogs, and who loves to play with his toys. Bertie has some lovely manners and obedience already in place and he takes treats very gently.

Bertie is a very sweet boy who is looking for a new family who can include him in their everyday activities. He was not walked too often in his previous home, so would love to be taken out for nice walks to explore new places. Bertie has a good history living with children and could live with older children again, pending intros at our Brands Hatch site. He has offered some lovely social skills towards other dogs during his time with us, and did previously live with another dog. However, the dog he previously lived with did often pick on Bertie and instigate squabbles over food, so if Bertie is living with another dog this time it is imperative that this dog is well rounded, mild mannered and will tolerate sharing their home with Bertie, so he does not have to go through similar experiences again.

Bertie has been exceptionally good for his bath and grooms here with our groomer and scrubs up a treat (as you will see from his photos!). Due to his coat type, he will need dedicated owners who understand the importance of maintaining the poodle coat properly. Owners will need to brush him everyday and they will need to factor in the financial responsibility of monthly trips to the groomer to keep his coat and skin in good condition and prevent him from becoming uncomfortable, matted or suffering from skin infections.
