More about Bingo

Say hello to Bingo!

Bingo exudes the usual energy you would expect from a Labrador and can often be seen carrying around his favourite toy, he does also have a more sensitive side and is looking for owners with experience who can support him in some areas and continue training. Bingo had demonstrated being less sure with some dogs and often "stealing" items, often turning this into a game for attention.

Initially less sure when coming into Battersea, with patience, TLC and some cuddly toys, Bingo has come on leaps and bounds with his confidence on his walks. He adores his bonded humans and has shown to struggle to settle on his own at times. Therefore, he is looking for owners to continue training in the home and build up time being left alone knowing that he may not enjoy spending longer time alone and will likely need some additional time and training settling into his new routine and home.
Bingo is sensitive to change and will require humans who understand the importance of training and have the experience with these behaviours, to then best apply this in the home.

Bingo can be a cheeky Labrador who likes to steal things, however he has shown great response to basic training which needs to be continued in the home. These basic skills are important to ensure there are some boundaries in place and help channel his energy appropriately.

Bingo has found the kennel environment very stressful therefore some of his behaviours have been more heightened and hopefully once in a home setting where he will be more comfortable and responsive to training.

Bingo has shown to lack confidence at times with other dogs and has had some training and exposure whilst he has been with us to help him gain some social skills and teach him how to cope when unsure and provide him with those tools for later on life.
Bingo has recently shown to be vocal in an attention seeking manner and will enjoy socialising with dogs who can respect his space but offer some play. He is therefore looking for a quiet location where he can have some dog friends who will not pester him and help him come out of his shell at his pace.

He has stolen the hearts ( along with many biscuits and other items!) of his humans but is looking for his loving forever home where he can enjoy his new life!

If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Bingo, you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.

We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs

Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.

Rehoming FAQs

Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.

This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest.  Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.

If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:

  • Microchipping
  • Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
  • Neutering
  • A collar, identification tag and lead
  • Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
  • Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings

Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
