Meet Chill!
Chilli was gifted in to Battersea after a change in her previous owner's circumstances. She is a sensitive girl who needs a little time to come out of her shell and build trust. When Chilli first arrived on site she was very worried and took a bit of time to warm up to our staff. Once she feels comfortable, she is a friendly, loving girl and enjoys pottering around on her walks, sniffing and exploring at her own pace.
As a typical Daxi, she can be quite vocal at times and knows how to use her voice! She has a history of barking towards stangers or things that worry her and so will need new owners who are used to working with anxious or vocal dogs and who would be confident continuing her training and helping her to feel more secure.
Chilli would love a quiet home with an enclosed garden and quieter walking routes, where she can settle in her own time. Chilli can be vocal when meeting other dogs but does settle around them after initial greets. She would happily be suited to being the only dog in the home, however she could live with another friendly, calm dog that wouldn't mind her vocal side. Due to Chilli's sensitive nature and her worried behaviours around new people, we feel that she would be best suited to a home with experienced teenagers who understand and will be respectful of her when she needs space. Chilli's new family will need to be patient while helping build her confidence around new people and dogs.
Chilli has a history of being stressed when left alone in her previous home so she is looking for new owners with low leaving hours who can gradually teach her to feel comfortable being left on her own for short periods. With time, understanding and a little patience, Chilli has the potential to blossom into a lovely companion.

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
