Say hello to our handsome gentleman, Cosmo!
Cosmo is a lovely lad who enjoys being in the company of people and other dogs. He’s always happy to lean in for some fuss from anyone willing to give him a little attention!
Cosmo loves his toys, particularly when he can shred them! He does, however, have a history of ingesting items on a few occasions. His new family will therefore need to be prepared to carefully manage this behaviour in the home. This will include providing safe outlets for chewing and shredding, creating a Cosmo-proof environment, and ensuring he has plenty of mental and physical stimulation to help prevent this behaviour from arising through boredom.
Cosmo has also previously shown some resource guarding behaviours, so he will need ongoing management and positive training around this. A home with previous experience of managing resource guarding would be ideal. For this reason, Cosmo will need to be the only animal in his new home, as he can find it difficult to share resources.
When it comes to meeting other dogs, Cosmo has shown a very good range of social skills. He has good foundations and is able to read other dogs well. He enjoys saying hello before happily walking alongside them on lead.
He would also benefit from owners who have limited hours away from home, so that he can have plenty of company and support. A secure garden would be a lovely bonus for him, and he could live with older teenagers who are able to take part in his daily training and care.
This lovely boy has so much love to give and, with the right home and ongoing support, Cosmo will make a wonderful addition to his new family.

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
