More about Frank
Frank is a confident and charming French Bulldog who is full of character. He is currently based at Battersea Old Windsor.
He has been spending some time in foster care, and we’ve learnt a few things about him. Frank enjoys having belly rubs and bum scratches, He's not a big fan of bath time, travels comfortably in the car and is gradually getting the hang of his house training routine though he will need direct access to his own garden to make this easier for him. Frank will be looking for new owners who can take a patient, gentle approach as he adjusts to home life and settles into a new routine.
Frank previously lived with another dog, and although they generally got along, they would sometimes squabble over resources. Due to this, he will be looking to be the only pet in his new home.
Since arriving at Battersea, we have seen a more independent side from Frank when meeting other dogs. He usually prefers a brief, polite greeting before carrying on with his own adventures. Frank can feel a little uneasy if a dog rushes over to him; to help keep him socialised, new owners can introduce him to calm, steady dogs who are likely to match his pace and energy.
Frank is beginning to show an interest in toys, especially when he’s spending time with his favourite people. He loves chasing after tennis balls, playing with soft toys and having a short game of tug.
While in foster care, Frank has really enjoyed shredding cardboard and envelopes. His new owners should provide safe, appropriate items for him to tear up, with supervision, so he can enjoy this natural behaviour in a suitable way.
Any potential new owners will need to speak to a Battersea vet before rehoming.
We have limited information about Frank’s experiences at the vets in his previous home, but during his time with us he has found clinical handling quite stressful. To help build his confidence, It may be beneficial for new owners can also take Frank for friendly visits to the vets.
Frank will make a delightful addition to a home and will bring plenty of joy and smiles. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Frank, you can e-mail our rehoming team on bow.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
