More about Gerald

Dashing Gerald is a diddy little German Spitz, possibly crossed with a Pomeranian. This delightful ball of auburn fluff came into our care after being found as a stray. He has proven himself to be a sweet boy and quite typical of the Spitz breeds - slightly aloof until he is comfortable with you but then a lot of fun and affection!

Gerald is looking for a calm and quiet household with understanding and patient owners. He can get easily overwhelmed by what we normally think are everyday dog things - like grooming and meeting new people. Gerald once he knows you is bouncy and keen to greet but to start off with he needs time to warm up to people so don't be offended if he doesn't show much affection initially. But then that makes it all the more special when he shows you some love.

This little boy does need his own private garden so he can start the bonding process with his new family and feel comfortable in the new environment. Gerald isn't quite sure how to behave around other dogs and does want to say hi but then can become independent and he prefers just wandering around on his lead exploring the smells around him. Due to this Gerald will prefer to be the only dog in the home. Some of his training needs for any potential new owner are working on helping him feel content around handling and grooming using very low pressure methods and our rehoming team can demonstrate what works best for him on intro.

If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about gorgeous Gerald, you can e-mail our rehoming team on bbh.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.

We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual animal, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here (https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming).

Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.
