More about Goldie
Goldie is an adorable and gentle Golden Retriever. She is a worried girl, and she can take a lot of time to bond with new people. Once she has, her bouncy and excitable side shines through when given her own time to make friends.
We found in the beginning of her stay here at Battersea, Goldie gained a lot of confidence around other dogs. She can be playful and calm around dogs that suit her play style, she can find more over the top play quite worrying so we feel she could live with another steady and gentle dog who can offer play but also show Goldie the ropes in her new home.
Overtime Goldie has managed to build her confidence on her own and with people going slowly with her. She can struggle when exploring new environments and meeting new people in different situations. Goldie is looking for her new home to be in a quiet location with a secure private garden. This will provide her with a safe space to build bonds with new owners and burn off her energy once more comfortable.
Once Goldie has bonded with people she has been known to enjoy running around and playing with them in our secure paddocks. We have seen her personality slowly but surely come out over time. New owners will need to be prepared to give Goldie lots of time to settle in, and positive reassurance to help her gain confidence and become comfortable in her new environment.
With time and gentle guidance, we believe Goldie will make a lovable and fun-loving companion. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Goldie, you can e-mail our rehoming team on bow.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
