More about Goose

Goose is a timid Lurcher with a sensitive soul. He is currently based as Battersea Old Windsor.

Goose came into our care as a stray so we don’t have any history on him or know what his life may have been like before coming to Battersea. He can find the real world daunting but is slowly beginning to grow in confidence and trust the world around him and is learning to find that it’s not so scary. He will be looking for patient and caring owners who can slowly introduce new experiences to him and allow Goose to come out of his shell at his own pace.

Due to Goose’s worried nature, he will need his own, secure private garden that he can use as a safe space while getting used to his new environment.

Goose could potentially live with another confident, steady dog and may benefit from this to help build his confidence. He can initially be worried when first meeting a dog but once he has found his confidence, he often presents more playful behaviour such as zooming around and engaging in typical Lurcher style play.

As Goose has shown to slowly warm up to his handlers, it has taken him some time to build bonds. We feel taking a slow approach and allowing Goose to socialise in his own time, and not put him in worrying situations, will be best to help continue making friends. As he is apprehensive about new people and lots of noise, he needs to live in a home without young children.

Goose will make a rewarding companion with the help of dedicated and committed owners who can give him the time and gentle encouragement needed to allow his personality to flourish.

If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Goose, you can e-mail our rehoming team on bow.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.

We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual animal, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming.

Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.
