More about Headley
Headley is an excitable Jack Russell Terrier cross who is based at our Old Windsor Centre, who has been friendly with everyone he has met during his time with us.
Headley enjoys calm fuss and once he is more comfortable, he enjoys climbing on to handlers’ laps and curling up. He has shown uncomfortable behaviours with more formal handling such as walking equipment and clinical handling. He will need ongoing training to build positive associations to this.
Headley has shown stress behaviours in kennel and can struggle to settle, he will need time to relax into his new home and pick up the new routines. New owners should allow Headley to go at his own pace. He will also need basic training from scratch.
We feel it is best for Headley’s new home to have a private and secure garden to be utilised for his training and off lead exercise.
He has been friendly with other dogs but can also show some sexual behaviours and can pester them for interaction. Headley will need to work on his socialisation in his new home and being the only dog in the household will be necessary due to this.
Due to his training and exercise needs, Headley is looking for an active home who has experience with owning dogs and reading their body language due to his training and stimulation needs.
Headley will make a loyal companion and charming addition to the family, if you are interested in him and have not registered, please do so on the Battersea website. https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming.
