More about Hugo
Hugo is a sensitive, gentle Tibetan Terrier who’s looking for a calm understanding home where he can truly blossom. He is currently based at Battersea Old Windsor.
He has a gentle, sensitive nature, and Hugo feels most at ease exploring the outdoors when he has a calm, steady dog by his side. He’ll thrive in a home with another confident, easy-going dog who can show him the ropes and help him continue building his confidence as he settles into family life.
Hugo can still find the outside world a little overwhelming, he may not be ready for traditional walks right away. He’ll need a very slow, patient introduction to them, with plenty of reassurance along the way.
While he’s settling in, having easy access to a secure garden will help him enormously. It will give him a safe space to potter about, enjoy calm enrichment, and build his confidence at his own pace.
As Hugo can feel a little unsure when meeting new people, he prefers to take things at his own pace. He’s happiest when he’s given the space to quietly observe an approach in his own time. Once he’s had a few minutes to settle, he’s usually content to spend time nearby and will often come over for treats and a gentle fuss when he feels ready.
Hugo is a real foodie who loves his meals. He enjoys slow feeders and fun enrichment like newspaper parcels and destruction boxes, which let him use his nose. He’s happy to take for all kinds of treats, from kibble to a bit of cheese or ham.
With time, patience, and the chance to come out of his shell, Hugo has all the makings of a truly loving companion.
