More about Jack
Our wonderful boy Jack, affectionately known as 'Little Jackie' by his handlers, is a sprightly and loving little Jack Russell Terrier, who despite his older years, still has lots left to give! Jackie loves to potter around outside and smell the undergrowth and foliage and also does well spending time in our offices where he may have a little cuddle or a snooze in a comfy soft bed.
Very sadly, Little Jackie was found abandoned and so we are unsure what his previous life might have looked like. He has been nursed back to health during his time at Battersea and has proven himself to be a very personable and sweet man, who is house trained in his kennel and who likes some tactile attention, including being picked up once he has built a bond with people. Jack can show some inconsistency around other dogs and with some dogs he is tolerant and friendly, whereas other dogs he can be more intolerant after greeting and give controlled but unnecessary reprimands.
Due to his age and his general disinterest in other dogs, as well as behaviours seen at Battersea, Jack is looking for a special home. We are advising that Jack is a 'garden dog' - having access to an adequate and enriching garden, as opposed to being walked, other than to privately hired fields if his new owners are able to offer him this. If he is needing to be taken out of the house, to the vets for example, Jack has been trained to comfortably wear a muzzle and he wears it well. Jack would fit into almost any family, as long as they are willing to meet his needs and follow our advice. This home could be an older person looking for an easy going companion to keep them company, or perhaps a family looking for a little dog who does not require much in the way of exercise. Jack could live with children, pending intros on site.
Jack really will make a fabulous little companion for almost any home and will be very easy going. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about our lovely little man, you can e-mail our rehoming team on bbh.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual animal, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.
