More about Jax
Jax is an affectionate dog with a sensitive side who is based at our Old Windsor Centre.
Due to Jax’s sensitive nature, he can be unsure in busy environments and can be worried of new people. Jax loves his food, and this comes in handy when making friends and building bonds with him. Due to Jax’s his worries we feel it is best for his new home to be in a quieter location so he can work on building his confidence and enjoy walks without any distractions.
He can also be nervous around different forms of handling and shows clear signs when he is uncomfortable. New owners will need to be patient and build bonds with Jax so he feels much more comfortable. Due to this Jax will be suited to live with older teens or adults so he can work on this in his own time and be given the time and space he needs.
Once Jax has bonded with a handler, he has an affectionate side and loves to curl up on their lap and can sometimes paw at them for more fuss. He is looking for patient owners that can give him the time and space he needs to come out of his shell in his new environment. Due to stress behaviours we have seen when Jax has been in kennel, he is looking for a multi carer household.
Jax has been an escape artist during his time with us, and we feel it is best for his new home to have a private and secure garden, so he has a safe and secure area for off lead exercise and building his confidence.
Jax will need all basic training from scratch. We have no history of whether he has lived in a home before so he will need time to settle and get used to the home environment. He is also social with other dogs but does prefer his own space so due to this we feel it is best for Jax to be the only dog in the household.
Jax will make a rewarding and loyal companion for his new owners, if you are interested in Jax and have not registered yet, please do so on the Battersea website https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming. Thank you
