Jaxx is a charming and intelligent German Shepherd cross Husky who is looking for an active home where he can enjoy plenty of exercise, enrichment, and companionship. He would be best suited to owners who have experience with these breeds as he does display strong breed traits.
Jaxx previously spent some time living in a home, where he was house-trained and had begun learning how to spend short periods of time on his own.
During his time in a home, it became clear that Jaxx is an exceptionally clever and resourceful dog. He has shown a talent for working things out for himself, including opening doors, and even finding ways to get over fencing when given the opportunity to explore beyond his boundaries. Because of this, Jaxx will need a home with a very secure, private garden and owners who are mindful of managing access points around the home. With the right management and understanding of his adventurous nature, Jaxx is sure to thrive and settle well into his new home.
He has been friendly and sociable with everyone he has met both in his previous home and during his time at Battersea Old Windsor. He thoroughly enjoys spending time with people and is a very affectionate dog who loves attention. Jaxx can sometimes forget his size when he's excited and may clumsily jump up to greet people. We are currently helping him learn to keep all four paws on the floor when saying hello, encouraging calmer and more polite interactions.
Although Jaxx is friendly with other dogs, he can be very excitable and would benefit from some ongoing one-to-one training to help him make thoughtful choices when interacting with them. For this reason, we feel Jaxx would be best suited to being the only dog in the home at this time, allowing his new owners to focus on his training and helping him settle into his new routine.
Jaxx is a bright and intelligent dog who will thrive in a home that can provide both plenty of physical exercise and opportunities to keep his mind active. He enjoys learning and would benefit from activities that challenge him mentally, such as training games, scent work, puzzle toys, or even dog sports like agility.
Jaxx is looking for owners who are prepared to continue his ongoing training and help him reach his full potential.

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
