More about Kitty
Meet Kitty, a sweet and affectionate 8-year-old Chihuahua with a playful personality and plenty of love to give! This lovely little lady arrived in our care as a stray, so we don't know much about her previous life, but she has certainly shown us her charming character since joining us.
Kitty loves spending time with people and is always happy to receive some fuss and affection. She enjoys exploring on her walks, following interesting scents and having little bursts of playful energy, complete with bunny hops and zoomies! She also appreciates the quieter things in life and particularly enjoys snuggling into soft beds and blankets for a well-earned rest.
Kitty has enjoyed positive interactions with other dogs, including friendly greetings and play. She can occasionally feel uncomfortable if another dog is a little too enthusiastic or intrusive, so she would appreciate owners who can support her with appropriate introductions and respect her boundaries.
Kitty could potentially live with a suitably matched dog following successful introductions or be equally happy as the only dog in the home. She could also live with sensible older children who understand how to interact gently with small dogs. A cat-free home would be preferred at this time, and first-time owners could be considered if they are happy to continue her training and help her settle into her new surroundings.
If you're looking for a loving little companion who enjoys cuddles, gentle adventures and the occasional playful zoom around, Kitty could be the perfect addition to your family!
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Kitty, you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog in question.
Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
