More about Leo

Wonderful Leo is a Tibetan Terrier who came to Battersea with some fellow canine friends from the same home. He is a friendly and sweet boy who enjoys the company of people and a cosy bed. Leo is partially sighted but still gets around well, using his handler for reassurance and guidance.

Leo is very used to living with other dogs and has generally been a friendly and sociable boy while on site, polite when greeting other dogs and then happy to potter around independently of them in a relaxed manner. Due to his limited vision, Leo would really benefit from living with another dog, as he does use dogs here to follow through doorways and up steps - almost like a guide dog! The other dog would need to be a confident, steady role model who can help build his confidence. Leo could also potentially live with a calm and confident cat, as long as new owners are willing to follow all advice regarding introducing him to a resident cat.

Leo is not house trained so he will need his own garden and patient owners to help him with this. He would also like his new owners to be around with him most of the time to begin as he is so used to company, and he will need a sympathetic approach to building up the time he is left alone in the house. He is currently quite underweight, so will need his owners to continue with his diet plan to help him achieve a healthy weight.

Due to his coat type, he will need dedicated owners who understand the importance of maintaining his coat properly. Owners will need to spend time brushing him everyday and will need to factor in the financial responsibility of monthly trips to the groomer to keep his coat and skin in good condition and prevent him from becoming uncomfortable, matted or suffering from skin infections.
