More about Lottie

Loveable Lottie is a goofy, glass half full kind of Labrador who is always on the go. She is a dog trainer's absolute dream!!

Lottie came into our care via another rescue, and so her background and behavioural information is limited. During her time with us, Lottie has loved running around our paddocks and playing with her toys, fetching and retrieving them in true Labrador Retriever style. She is an exuberant and excitable youngster, who can jump to head height! Lottie has not been housetrained in her kennel, so will need a private garden for continued training and as a space to burn off some of her fizzy energy.

Due to her high energy levels and scatty personality, Lottie can find it hard to keep still for very long! She therefore finds prolonged tactile contact, such as veterinary handling, quite uncomfortable. She can also become overwhelmed and overstimulated with more 'rough housing' style hands on or play. She will therefore need a sensible all adult household, who appreciate that Lottie picks up on the energy that is put down from people - she needs a calm and gentle approach to prevent her from becoming too stressed and over excitable.

Lottie is a ball of energy and she has the potential to learn lots of obedience, but her energy needs to be harnessed in a constructive way! Here, she has turned her paw at Canine Hoopers and would likely be a great candidate for extra curricular enriching activities such as this, but her new owners may also want to consider working alongside a trainer to support them and Lottie, and help them guide Lottie to reach her full potential. We'd only recommend looking for positive reward based trainers who are accredited through a reputable organisation. Lottie is much more than a 'walk around the block twice a day' kind of girl, and will need physically active new owners who enjoy the great outdoors and are looking for a companion to join them.

If you have a calm and quiet household, are up for investing time and training into a dog and have an active lifestyle and a love for working-type Labradors, Lottie would love to hear from you!
