More about Lylah
Meet Lylah, a beautiful and affectionate young Cane Corso cross with a big personality and an even bigger love of cuddles!
This playful girl enjoys exploring, playing with toys and spending time with her favourite people. Although she can initially be sensitive to unfamiliar environments, she has grown in confidence during her time with us and loves nothing more than leaning in for a good fuss.
In her previous home, Lylah displayed some resource guarding behaviours, particularly involving children and other dogs. She wasn't keen on sharing her home with visiting canine companions. Onsite, we've found her to be mostly playful around other dogs, but she will need ongoing guidance and support to develop her social skills.
Lylah can also become very excitable, and her enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of her, including wanting to give your whole face a kiss! She's been a delight to have in kennels and certainly enjoys all the cuddles from anyone willing to give her some.
Lylah is looking for an adult-only home where she can be the only dog, with owners who have experience with Cane Corsos or other guarding breeds. Her new family will need to understand the traits and needs of a young, large and bouncy dog, and be confident providing consistent, positive training and ongoing support with her behaviour.
She would benefit from a quieter environment, a secure private garden and a consistent routine to help her settle and build confidence. With experienced owners who understand her needs and are committed to her ongoing training, Lylah has plenty of affection and personality to share.
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Lylah, you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog in question.
Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
