Michael is a fun Lurcher with a big personality and an even bigger appetite. Full of enthusiasm, he thrives on attention and is always ready to make new friends. Whether he's heading out on a walk or showing off commands he has learnt in exchange for a tasty treat, Michael brings plenty of energy wherever he goes.
Michael is a sociable dog who enjoys spending time with both people and other dogs. He can become excited when he sees another dog and may bounce around in anticipation. With a little guidance he settles quickly and is able to be polite. He is learning that not every walk needs to include saying hello. Continuing this training will help him remain relaxed and confident when out and about.
His excitement isn't limited to other dogs, Michael can also get bouncy when greeting people. He will benefit from a family who can encourage calm greetings and continue rewarding polite behaviour. Due to his size and enthusiasm, he is best suited to a home with teenagers who are comfortable around larger, lively dogs.
Michael enjoys exploring and is a confident walker who takes the world in his stride. He loves long walks with plenty of opportunities to sniff and he would happily join a family who enjoy getting outdoors and discovering new places together. He has shown an interest in chasing birds, so his adopters will need to be mindful in areas with lots of wildlife, choosing quieter walking locations while continuing his training.
Michael is not yet housetrained and will need a private garden to develop this training without becoming overexcited by passing dogs. He will need guidance as he settles into his new routine, along with management around food, as he has the potential to investigate kitchen worktops if tasty treats have been left within reach.
Michael is an entertaining and intelligent young dog who has so much to offer. He is looking for a family who can provide ongoing training and consistent boundaries.

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
