More about Moana
Meet our wonderful Moana!
Moana is a sweet and affectionate 9-year-old girl who is looking for a loving home where she can relax and enjoy her golden years. Despite her age, she still has plenty of spring in her step and enjoys getting out and about. She loves human attention, responds well to her name and has some great foundations in place.
Moana has previously lived successfully with dogs and cats, but we now feel she would be happiest as the only dog in the home. She may be able to live with a cat following careful introductions. She has found kennel life difficult and has previously enjoyed the comforts of home, so her new owners will need to be patient and understanding while she settles in and builds new relationships.
Moana has had some experiences with dogs who did not respect her space, so it is important that her new owners are confident reading dog body language and can help her have positive experiences. She is very good at choosing to ignore other dogs when she would rather enjoy her own walk, and has also shown some lovely social skills around younger dogs.
Moana enjoys pottering along on her walks and taking in everything around her. She walks nicely on a harness, although she can pull at times. She would also enjoy doing some fun basic training with her new owners and having plenty of opportunities to explore.
Moana can live with children aged 8+ who can understand and respect her space. She is looking for a home with her own private garden and easy, regular access to outdoor space.
Moana is a lovely girl who would be happiest with owners who can offer her a calm and comfortable home, plenty of companionship and the time to settle in at her own pace.
Moana is a wonderful girl who would make a home complete!
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Moana, you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.
Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
