More about Nala

Meet our big and beautiful Nala! This lady loves to lounge on sofas and cuddle up with her favourite people. She is very tactile and loves to be stroked and gently massaged!

Nala is a bit of a worried girl and needs new owners who are patient and understanding that she likely won't leave the house for a while. It is also a possibility that as Nala has been this way her whole life, she may not make it out on walks and would instead prefer to have a quiet garden to relax in and have as her outside area. New owners should understand that pushing Nala to face what she finds scary will have adverse effects and would likely slow down or even stop bonds being built. We have taken Nala to private fields and she has benefited from quieter locations but finds very open or noisy locations overwhelming, so she would love her new owners to continue taking her to secluded places where she feels safe. She has been a bit unsure about getting into the car at times but has made progress with this and would benefit from her new owners spending some time continuing to building up positive experiences with travelling. It is recommended that Nala’s new owners have experience with dogs with anxiety and worry before due to her lack of confidence.

She has grown in confidence since arriving and made so much progress here, but she will still get worried when we try to extend her world. Nala will need to go to a home with a private garden to help build her confidence as it may take her some time to fully settle into a new home. Nala has also shown some reactions to strangers when she feels worried by them but is able to make friends quickly and food is the key to her heart!
