Meet our very own Super Nova!!
Nova is a 5 year old female Shepherd cross who was gifted to Battersea after being with her previous family for only a year. However, in the short time of having her, they described her as an absolute joy to live with.
Nova is an independent, mature lady, who knows what she wants but also has a sensitive and worried side, especially when faced with unknown environments and their new sounds and experiences. When she first arrived, Nova took a little while to form bonds with new people but slowly but surely, with a slow and gentle approach, Nova began to trust and form solid bonds with her handlers which had the added bonus of giving her the reassurance she needed to take on the challenges she faced.
Nova has really come out of her shell and with her bonded people, she is growing in confidence daily and is a playful, gentle, affectionate lady, at times aloof, at others goofy and even sassy with her demanding boofs and air chomps if having to be patient for her favourite toy.
Nova is now ready for the next challenge in her life and is looking for a new home with her own garden, away from noisy and busy areas where she can settle in, in her own time and build a solid bond with her new family. She would love her new owners to be a couple or family with older children who have experience in caring for shepherd breeds and or worried dogs that need that extra bit of patience. Because of Nova's history and behaviours seen on site around other dogs, we would advise that she is kept on lead on all walks. She would like her new family to be active and who will continue with the training she enjoys so much and she would prefer to be the only dog and lap up their undivided attention. Once settled and bonded, Nova is sure to be the joy to live with that her previous owners described.

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
