More about PENNY

Meet our pretty Penny!

She arrived at Battersea after being brought to us by a Greyhound rescue for ex-racers.

Penny has proven herself to be an extremely loving and affectionate girl, who loves nothing more than spending her time in the company of people and other Greyhounds. Penny really likes to be held and especially loves a neck scratch!

This girl is typical of her breed and also given her history of being a racing Greyhound, has shown some chase behaviours towards small and more animated dogs. For this reason we are asking that she is always kept onlead and muzzled on walks / in public areas.

Penny enjoys making doggy friends and although she was a little worried and independent initially, has shown to be playful and eager to greet dogs. She has however shown a relatively high chase drive, often displaying chase behaviours towards dogs that become animated, and especially towards small dogs. Although she will need owners to continue working on his her positive and constructive exposure to other breeds, there is the potential for her to live with another Greyhound that matches her energy, as she has enjoyed making friends with other Greyhounds on site.

She will need owners to work on building up her time alone gradually, as, it is important to note that given she is an ex-racing Greyhound, she has likely been kennelled for most of her life, with no real experience in a domestic home environment.

Penny is friendly and excitable with people and can be a little bouncy at times, so if living with children, could live with teens who are confident around bouncier dogs and can engage in constructive interactions with her.

She is a loving and affectionate girl that really just wants a sofa to call her own and a family to adore her as much as we do. She's sure to impress you with her funny sleeping positions.
