More about Peter

Peter is a nine-month-old Lurcher with a gentle nature and an affectionate personality. He is looking for an understanding family who can help him continue to grow in confidence as he discovers the world around him.

Peter is a friendly and sociable young dog who has enjoys meeting everyone he comes across. He greets new people with a gentle manner and takes treats very politely. Although he can be a little timid at first, Peter flourishes when given patience, reassurance and the opportunity to build trust at his own pace.

As a young dog, Peter is still learning about the world and has found some new places and experiences overwhelming. Due to his worry, he would be best suited to a home with older children who can understand when he needs space and interact with him in a calm manner.

Peter has shown some uncertainty around other dogs while in our care, particularly those that are boisterous or overly enthusiastic. He could happily live with a calm, confident dog who is tolerant of puppy play and can help him build positive experiences as his confidence grows. Peter particularly enjoys chase games, so a similar-sized canine companion who shares his love of running would be an ideal match.

To help Peter settle into home life, he will need access to a secure private garden where he can enjoy safe off-lead time and continue building his confidence. He would also thrive in a quieter area, allowing him to meet other dogs at a pace that suits him.

Although Peter is still growing and does not currently require large amounts of exercise, he will develop into an active dog who will enjoy an adventurous lifestyle. His new family should be open to exploring together and providing plenty of opportunities for enrichment, training and fun.

Peter is a young dog with so much potential. In a calm and supportive home that can offer him gentle guidance and plenty of encouragement, he is sure to grow into a rewarding companion.
