More about Poppy

Poppy is an affectionate six-year-old Toy Poodle cross who is looking for a calm and caring home where she can enjoy a peaceful lifestyle alongside her favourite people. She is currently based at Battersea Old Windsor.

Poppy is a sociable and affectionate little dog; she loves spending time with people and quickly forms strong bonds with those around her. Whether she's greeting friends or relaxing in the office Poppy is always happy to make new friends. She particularly enjoys sitting close by her humans, whether that's curled up by their feet or sharing a chair.

Poppy is happiest in a quiet, predictable environment. She can find fast movements and busy activity overwhelming, so she is looking for a mature household that can provide her with a steady routine and plenty of opportunities to relax. As a smaller dog, she appreciates gentle introductions and prefers people to allow her the choice to approach them in her own time.

When it comes to other dogs, Poppy is quite independent and prefers her own company. She is content to walk past other dogs without interacting and would like to be the only dog in her new home, where she can enjoy all the attention for herself.

Poppy enjoys exploring the world at her own pace. She prefers gentle walks filled with opportunities to sniff, investigate and take in her surroundings. Since joining us Poppy has been housetrained and likes to have zoomies in a garden.

She forms close attachments to people and can find their absence difficult. For this reason, she is looking for a home where someone can be with her for most of the day while she settles in. Potential adopters should be prepared for the possibility that Poppy may always prefer having company nearby.

Poppy is a loving companion with a gentle nature and a huge heart. In a home that can offer her companionship, patience and a calm routine, she is sure to become a devoted and rewarding addition.
