More about Quaver

Meet gorgeous Quaver, one of our 7 adorable Crisp Pups!

Quaver is one of an accidental litter of seven who arrived at Battersea at just six weeks old. He had a bit of a rough start to life, coming into our care with an injury, but he certainly hasn't let that hold him back! He is a confident, playful puppy who loves attention, exploring his surroundings and having a little play with his siblings. He is also very happy to curl up for a snooze when he's worn himself out!

Quaver is looking for owners with previous dog experience who have researched Malinois and Lurcher breeds and understand that he could grow into a high-energy, intelligent dog who will need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He can be quite mouthy at times, so his new family will need to be prepared to continue his training and patiently redirect this onto suitable toys.

Due to his age and vaccination status, Quaver has had limited opportunities to meet other dogs or experience the outside world. He has enjoyed playing with his siblings and could benefit from living with a tolerant, well-matched adult dog who can help show him the ropes. He is best suited to a cat-free home, as he has shown an interest in chasing cats.

Quaver would be best suited to a home with teenagers who understand how to interact appropriately with a young dog. Puppy mouthing is to be expected, so children will need to be comfortable with this and all interactions should be supervised by adults. His new owners will also need to give him space when resting or eating and ensure he always has somewhere to retreat to.

Quaver will need his own private garden, where he can gradually begin exploring the outside world once fully vaccinated. He could live in a range of locations, provided his owners are committed to gently introducing him to new experiences, including traffic and busier environments, as he grows.

Quaver is a lovely, outgoing puppy with lots of potential. With patient owners who are ready for the fun and challenges of raising a young dog, he could grow into a wonderful companion!

If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Quaver, you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.

We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs

Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.

Rehoming FAQs

Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.

This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest.  Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.

If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:

  • Microchipping
  • Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
  • Neutering
  • A collar, identification tag and lead
  • Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
  • Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings

Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
