More about Rex
Meet sweet Rex!
Rex came to us with a history of being a cuddly, loving boy who adored sofa snuggles. He also enjoyed friendly play with calm dogs, though he could feel a bit shy around louder, pushier ones. He did have a worried side to him around new people and more boisterous dogs, and would take himself away until he had built more confidence.
When Rex first arrived here at Battersea, he was very worried and overwhelmed, taking quite some time to come out of his shell and bond with his handlers. But with time and patience he’s blossomed into an affectionate, loyal companion who loves a fuss from those he trusts. He can still be sensitive to handling at times, so he’ll need owners who can go at his pace and continue his training around vet visits, as well as letting him make friends in his own time.
Rex will need new owners who are confident in reading body language, particularly with more nervous dogs and are prepared to give him a settling in period where he can find his feet and bond with his new family.
Rex has been left alone at home before with no issues, but kennel life has been stressful for him — he’ll appreciate some enrichment and things to do when left alone. He’s happiest as the only dog in his new home, where he can relax and soak up all the love.
Since going on foster, he has continued to blossom into a wonderful dog and each day has come out of his shell a bit more. He loves going on his walks and playing with a ragger at home, as well as cuddle time with his people.
If you can offer Rex a calm, patient home, he’ll reward you with endless cuddles and devotion. Could you be the one?
