Meet our handsome boy, Rocky!

Rocky is a Cane Corso cross who was unfortunately brought into our care due to his owner no longer being able to provide the care he needs.

Rocky is nearing the age of 7 but his age isn't slowing him down. This boy is still keen on playing and getting up and out for his walks! He loves a good game of tug and fetch with his favourite humans. He can be an excitable lad, so would need a good amount of mental and physical stimulation to keep his energy content.

He is a sweet and affectionate boy, who loves adults and children and believes every lap is his seat (sometimes forgetting his size)! He would best thrive in a home where he is the only pet, alongside his owners being around for majority of the time. Rocky will need to go to an experienced home, preferably with experience or a good amount of knowledge of guarding breeds. He is surely to be the most loyal and loving companion to any family lucky enough to have him!

Rehoming FAQs

Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.

This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest.  Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.

If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:

  • Microchipping
  • Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
  • Neutering
  • A collar, identification tag and lead
  • Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
  • Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings


Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
