More about Roscoe
Meet Roscoe, a handsome French Bulldog with a big personality and plenty of affection to share!
This friendly, enthusiastic boy loves spending time with his favourite people, enjoying a good fuss, playing with toys and exploring the world around him. Once his excitement has passed, he is also happy to relax and find himself a comfortable spot in the warmth.
Roscoe previously lived in a busy family household with children and another dog, where he was described as a gentle and affectionate companion. Since arriving with us, we have found that Roscoe can become quite excited, particularly when seeing other dogs or people passing his kennel. He can be vocal when frustrated and sometimes struggles to contain his enthusiasm when greeting other dogs. However, Roscoe has been working hard on his training and has made encouraging progress with responding to his name, focusing on his handler and learning to remain calmer around distractions.
Roscoe is looking for a loving home with adopters who can provide consistent training, regular enrichment and plenty of affection. He could live with school-aged children and above following successful introductions, and his new family will need to continue his training around other dogs to help him develop calmer greetings and interactions.
Roscoe would love access to his own private garden, where he can enjoy some time playing and relaxing.
With patience, understanding and a little guidance, Roscoe has lots of potential to become a wonderful companion who will bring plenty of character and affection to his new home.
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Roscoe, you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog in question.
Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
