More about Sage
Sage is an affectionate and kind-hearted Rottweiler who is currently based at Battersea Old Windsor.
Sage loves to spend time with her human companions and lap up every inch of attention that she can get. She can sometime be sensitive when meeting people for the first time but once you have made friends with Sage, she likes to lay next to you and push her head under your arms to let you know she would like more fuss and cuddles.
She will be needing an adult only home as she has shown to be over-excitable in novel situations and can find more animated and hands on play arousing which can lead to her jumping up and mouthing. She is currently learning an “off” cue to help prevent these behaviours which she has been making progress with.
As Sage is still working on her social skills around other dogs, she would be looking to be the only dog in the household at this time as she can sometimes get too over excited and over the top in her playstyle which some dogs will not appreciate.
It would be beneficial to keep Sage socialised with a mixture of dogs, including dogs of a similar nature who can tolerate her interactive and playful side and others who are calmer and can act as a role model to help teach Sage that not every walk with a dog is playtime.
Sage is an active girl who has plenty of energy. She loves going out for longer walks and exploring her surroundings or zooming around a paddock to help burn off her energy.
Sage would make a loyal and rewarding companion. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Sage, you can e-mail our rehoming team on bow.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual animal, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming.
