More about Sandy
Sandy is Chihuahua cross with an independent nature, located at Battersea Old Windsor.
Although Sandy likes going out for her walks and enjoys using her nose to follow a scent and explore her surroundings, she has shown to be sensitive to loud noises, as well as being worried of people and other dogs, due to this she is looking to live in a quieter location to allow her to build her confidence.
Sandy is looking for an adult-only household and will need to be the only dog in the home as she has shown to be uncomfortable when meeting new people, especially men and can find interacting with other dogs quite worrying which has led to being vocally reactive towards them and giving tell offs. She is currently working on training to help her in both these aspects, and she has steadily been making progress. She is looking for new owners who will be happy to continue her ongoing training and have some basic knowledge of dog body language.
As she came into our care as a stray, we have no history on what her life was like before coming to Battersea Old Windsor. She needs new owners who can take a patient approach to her care and allow her to settle into her new home at her own pace.
Sandy absolutely loves small tennis balls - especially ones that squeak. She will happily chase after them and retrieve. She also enjoys a play with soft toys and will play with them by herself or with her handlers.
Sandy’s favourite past times includes having a snooze in bed after a nice walk, playing with her tennis ball and eating her favourite tasty treat, cheese.
