Meet Sasha, our sweet and sensitive young Chihuahua cross!
Sasha is a gentle little dog who can initially be worried by new people, environments and experiences, but underneath her worried exterior is a curious and affectionate young dog who is beginning to show more of her personality every day. Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys exploring, sniffing and approaching her favourite people for gentle fuss.
Sasha is looking for patient owners with some previous dog experience who can give her the time and reassurance she needs to continue building her confidence. She responds best when given choice and allowed to approach new situations at her own pace, so her new owners will need to be comfortable reading her body language and using positive, reward-based training.
Sasha has shown appropriate social behaviour with the dogs she has met while in our care and can appear more confident with another dog alongside her. Although she can initially be worried by more enthusiastic dogs, she communicates appropriately and is able to move away when she needs space. She could live with a calm and appropriately matched dog following successful introductions. She could also live with a dog savvy cat.
As we have no previous history around children and Sasha can be worried by handling and animated interaction, she would be best suited to living with teenagers who can understand when she needs space and allow her to initiate interactions.
Sasha would benefit from a private garden where she can establish a toileting routine and enjoy safe opportunities to explore while she becomes confident walking in her new environment. She would be best suited to a suburban location with access to quieter walking routes.
Sasha has already made lovely progress during her time with us and, with patient owners who allow her confidence to develop at her own pace, we feel she will continue to blossom into a loving little companion.

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
