Meet Sophie. Our Sweet Belgian Shepherd Cross.
Sophie arrived at Battersea a gift with a lovely history in her previous home.
She is a lovely natured pup who does have a sensitive soul and can be worried by new people, handling and the wider world. She is looking for less experienced owners who are willing to take on the responsibility that comes with owning a puppy and provide her with basic training and confidence building in order to set her up for succes!
Sophie is worried of other dogs, but can greet nicely and gains in confidence when out and about on walks with them. She could live with another canine companion who can show her the ropes and be a good role model of behaviour for her. Sophie is still quite young and has shown no chase behaviours onsite, so could possibly live with a dog savvy cat with careful introduction.
She would prefer a home away from the inner city and will need access to her own private garden. Due to her worried nature she is best suited to live with teens 13 + who won't overwhelm her and will give her space when needed.
Sophie is a lovely girl with a heart of gold. She is sure to be most delightful companion in any household lucky enough to have her.

When we think we’ve found a potential match, one of our expert rehoming team will then get in touch to understand a bit more about you and discuss next steps.

We will then arrange a visit to a Battersea centre to meet your potential new pet.

Rehoming FAQs

Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.

This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest.  Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.

If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:

  • Microchipping
  • Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
  • Neutering
  • A collar, identification tag and lead
  • Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
  • Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings


Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
