More about Star (and Spike)
Say hello to sweet little Star (& her brother Spike)
Star & Spike came to us via another rescue, so we unfortunately have no history on them, though this little lady shown herself to be a lovely, gentle Pug!
Although she can be a little shy when meeting new people, she is quickly learning to trust and now happily approaches both familiar and new faces for a gentle fuss. She is growing in confidence every day. She is a sweet natured girl who simply needs a patient family willing to let her settle in at her own pace. Star tends to be a little better with dogs than Spike, and a little less confident with people.
Star came into Battersea with her brother, Spike, and they are happiest when together. They love exploring on walks, plodding around side by side and checking in with one another. They are a really special pair and would love to find a home together, where they can continue to bring each other comfort and companionship.
With her gentle nature, lovely bond with Spike and attractive personality, Star has so much to offer. Any new family will be lucky to have her, and we’re sure that with a little time and patience, this sweet girl will become a much loved member of the family.
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Star and Spike, you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can do so here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog in question.
Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
